I get a 'Communication issue' error when launching the app

If you're shown this error message when launching the app on your Apple Watch for the first time, please try pressing the "Try again" button.

If this doesn't help, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the Apple Watch app:

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on RTM.
  3. Toggle Show App on Apple Watch to the off position.
  4. Wait until the 'Uninstalling...' message disappears, then toggle Show App on Apple Watch to the on position again.
